Job summary

Akuna Capital is seeking a Software Engineer (C++) to join our Sydney engineering team and contribute to the core trading platform. You will design, implement, and deliver high-performance trading systems using C++ on Linux, collaborating with traders and researchers to enhance the platform.

The role requires hands-on development, design reviews, and cross-functional teamwork, with exposure to modern CPU architectures and distributed systems.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience developing high-performance, scalable applications in modern C++.
• Experience with C++17/20 and template meta-programming is a plus.
• Experience with Linux and Python required.
• Understanding of distributed systems, data structures and algorithms, object-oriented design.
• Practical use of multi-threaded/multi-core programming paradigms.
• Interest in the C++ language and modern CPU architecture is a plus.
• Bachelor's degree or above in Computer Science, Engineering, Maths or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Design and build mission critical and complex trading systems.
• Plan, design and implement high quality Linux services using modern C++ technologies.
• Build software using Agile methodologies.
• Participate in design sessions and code reviews.
• Work on cross-functional teams to troubleshoot and solve complex problems.
