Job summary

Matthew Hoyle Financial Markets is seeking a software engineer to enhance, maintain and support its in‑house electronic trading system in NSW, Australia. You will collaborate with Traders, Quants and Infrastructure teams to deliver low‑latency, scalable solutions on a Linux/GCC platform, contributing to system architecture decisions and delivering high‑quality code.

A Bachelor degree in Computer Science or related field is required, with experience in C++, multithreading, IPC and distributed

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

As a member of the global software development team, this role will be to enhance, maintain and support the Company’s in‑house electronic trading system.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• To enhance, maintain and support the in‑house trading platform
• Collaborate and engage with fellow team members including Traders, Quants and Infrastructure personnel
• Contribute to system architecture decisions to ensure low‑latency/scalable/efficient/reliable solutions

Qualifications

• Bachelor Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, and equivalent work experience.

Skills

• Strong demonstrable skills and track record in programming C++
• Strong demonstrable skills and track record in developing on a Linux/gcc platform
• Experience with profiling/optimising software algorithms
• Experience with network programming, multithreaded programming, inter-process communications
• Experience with distributed architecture systems
