Job summary

atWork Australia is seeking a Business Intelligence Specialist in Adelaide to lead reporting and analytics workstreams. You will migrate assets to Databricks, design scalable data models and build Power BI dashboards to drive insights across the organisation.

You will manage multiple initiatives, engage stakeholders, and ensure governance and best practices are applied across data assets. A tertiary IT/BI qualification and strong SQL/Data modeling skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Experience with Databricks in a reporting/analytics environment.
• Strong Power BI development experience including dashboards, data models and DAX.
• Solid SQL skills with experience in SQL Server environments.
• Experience designing and optimising data models for reporting and analytics.
• Understanding BI best practices, data governance and reporting standards.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
• Ability to manage competing priorities across multiple projects.
• Experience on data migration or transformation projects.
• Exposure to Employment Services, Government contracting, or large multi-site organisations.
• Tertiary qualifications in Information Technology, Business Intelligence or related discipline.

Business Intelligence Specialist • Adelaide, Australia

Reporting to the Manager, BI and Finance, you'll play a key role in supporting the organisation's growing reporting and analytics needs. With several concurrent projects underway, you'll help increase team capacity while delivering scalable, high-quality reporting solutions.

This role will focus on:

• Supporting the migration of reporting and data assets from SQL Server to Databricks
• Designing and implementing robust data models that align with BI best practices
• Developing, maintaining and enhancing Power BI dashboards and reports
• Refactoring existing reports to improve usability, performance and governance
• Writing and optimising SQL queries to extract, transform and validate data
• Building DAX measures and semantic models that support business decision-making
• Working closely with stakeholders to understand reporting requirements and deliver actionable insights
• Supporting continuous improvement initiatives across reporting, analytics and data management functions
• Work to KPIs and performance targets in a fast-paced, purpose-driven environment
