Job summary

Livingstone Shire Council in Yeppoon, Queensland, is seeking a Business Improvement & Innovation Officer to partner with teams, identify opportunities for improvement and implement practical solutions that enhance how we work.

You will support service delivery, employee experience and organisational performance through better processes and tools, embedding improved ways of working across the council and community.

Qualifications

  • Experience or qualifications in business improvement, innovation, service design, project delivery or organisational change.
  • Curious mindset and passion for simplifying processes and improving services.
  • Strong facilitation, communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Ability to analyse problems, identify opportunities and deliver practical solutions.
  • Adaptability and commitment to continuous improvement.
  • Tertiary qualification in Business, Design Thinking, or Service Design.

Responsibilities

  • Work with people across Council to understand challenges and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Help design and deliver practical solutions that enhance service delivery, employee experience and organisational performance.
  • Facilitate workshops and collaborative improvement activities that bring people together to solve problems.
  • Support teams to simplify processes, reduce unnecessary effort and embed better ways of working.
  • Develop user-friendly tools, resources and guidance materials that help teams work consistently and effectively.
  • Assist with the implementation and adoption of improvement initiatives in partnership with business, digital and technical specialists.
  • Use feedback, data and insights to measure success and continually refine solutions.
  • Champion a culture of continuous improvement, collaboration and innovation across Council.

As a Business Improvement & Innovation Officer, you will partner with teams across the organisation to identify opportunities, solve problems and implement practical improvements that enhance the way we work. Through process improvement, innovation, service enhancement and the adoption of better systems and tools, you will help create positive experiences for employees and customers alike, enabling Council to deliver more efficient, responsive and sustainable services to the community.
