Job summary

Thermo Fisher Scientific Australia is seeking a driven Business Development Manager for the Industrial portfolio in Melbourne. You will identify, develop and deliver market opportunities and customer solutions to generate leads and sales while coordinating with the internal commercial team.

The role requires a track record of at least five years in business development, strong strategic selling, and excellent communication.

Qualifications

  • B.Sc. level or higher in Engineering and Material Life Sciences or Occupational Health.

**DESCRIPTION:**
You will identify, develop and deliver market opportunities and customer solutions that will generate leads and sales for the Industrial portfolio. You will coordinate between the internal commercial team and customers to develop and deliver the right solutions to achieve financial targets.

What You\'ll Do:
  • Achieve or exceed the territory sales plan, as set each year for the defined territory, and be instrumental to the achievement of the goals by maintaining existing business, developing incremental business including new accounts and market segments.
  • Produce and follow a relevant call cycle for the territory. Identify sustainable growth opportunities within the product portfolio.
  • Set up and coordinate meetings with new and existing customers- and meet those KPIs required.
  • Collaborate with internal sales and marketing team.
  • Provide product and other relevant information to customers via daily phone contact and personal visits for all aspects of the business to generate sales.
  • Actively take part in internal product training and the external scientific community activities.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed customer records on the company CRM.
  • Acquire and report information of market trends, competitive promotions and other activities from the market that may aid the sales and marketing activity
  • Identify key accounts in a defined territory that will be important to the sales growth in that territory.
  • Develop, write, and implement a strategic plan for coordinating the assigned territory annually, updated quarterly.
Keys to Success:
Education
  • Educated to B.Sc. level or above in Engineering and Material Life Sciences, Occupational Health.
  • A master\'s degree is highly desirable.
Experience
  • Previous commercial success in business development roles in industry of at least 5 years
  • Experience in Gas or Workplace safety highly desirable

Physical Requirements / Work Environment
  • A reasonable amount of travel may be required depending on geography of the territory. This may include, but is not limited to travel for conferences, training, and meetings
