Civica in Melbourne seeks a results-driven Business Development Manager (SaaS) to identify opportunities, build relationships and convert conversations into new business. You will create a healthy pipeline, qualify opportunities and move deals with senior customers, supported by a structured onboarding program.
The role is based in Melbourne with an expectation to work from the office at least two days per week, offering flexibility and a collaborative, inclusive environment.
We're Civica and we make software that helps deliver critical services for citizens all around the world. From local to state government, to education, to health and care, over 5,000 public bodies across the globe use our software to help provide critical services to over 100 million citizens.
Our aspiration is to be a GovTech champion everywhere we work around the globe, supporting the needs of citizens and those that serve them every day. Building on 21 years of continuous growth and success, we're at a pivotal point on our journey to realise that aspiration.
As a company, we're passionate about what we do and the citizens we help to serve. If you too would like to help champion the use of technology in public services, to improve outcomes for citizens and public sector organisations, then Civica is the right place for you. We will help you unlock the best version of yourself, achieve growth in your career whilst making a real difference to people and communities.
We're looking for a Business Development Manager (Saas) who enjoys finding new opportunities, building relationships and turning conversations into new business.
Civica is in the middle of real change. We're not perfect and there is plenty still to do, but as a PE-backed business we're investing in our products and growth. That creates a genuine opportunity to have a say, challenge how things are done and help build something better.
You'll create quality pipeline, qualify opportunities and keep deals moving by opening doors and building trusted relationships with senior customers. You don't need public sector or technology experience, but you do need a solid sales track record, commercial discipline and the ability to learn quickly.
This role is based in Melbourne, with an expectation that you'll work from the office at least two days each week.
You'll also have a structured onboarding program, supported by our Sales Enablement team, to help you understand our products, customers and sales approach.
This isn't a finished story. It's a chance to join a business investing in its products and future, with plenty of opportunity for good people to make their mark.
We know that when our people are happy, they will work better and have greater work satisfaction. Here’s what you can expect:

In fact, we strongly believe that diversity of experience contributes to a broader collective perspective that will consistently lead to a better company and better outcomes. We are working hard to increase the diversity of our team wherever we can, and we actively encourage everyone to consider becoming a part of it. We are especially keen to receive applications from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples of Australia.
