Job description

Savvy is looking for a Business Development Manager to help expand our Asset Finance Broker network in QLD

This is a unique opportunity for an experienced Asset Finance Broker who is ready for a new challenge, but doesn't want to lose their connection with asset finance broking.

Rather than spending every day writing loans yourself, you'll use your industry knowledge and experience to find, recruit, train and develop Asset Finance Brokers, helping them build successful businesses within the Savvy network.

We are specifically looking for someone who has previously worked as an Asset Finance Broker, preferably within an online or digitally driven environment

You understand the realities of being a broker because you've done the job yourself — managing leads, speaking with customers, structuring deals, dealing with lenders, converting opportunities and ultimately getting loans settled.

That experience will be critical in helping us recruit the right people and then supporting them to become successful Savvy brokers.

About Savvy

Savvy is an established Australian finance business with extensive experience across asset finance and consumer lending.

As we continue to grow our national broker network, we are investing heavily in the people, technology, marketing and support required to help our brokers build successful businesses.

Our model combines the strength of the Savvy brand with technology, lender access, marketing, lead generation, training and ongoing business support.

We are now looking for experienced Asset Finance professionals who can help us accelerate the growth of our broker network across Australia.

What You'll Be Doing

This role has two equally important components:

1. Connecting with Prospects

You will proactively identify and approach potential brokers, introduce them to the Savvy opportunity and ultimately recruit the right people into our network.

This is a genuine business development role.

You won't simply be managing an existing database of warm prospects. We want someone who enjoys creating opportunities and isn't afraid to pick up the phone.

2. Helping those brokers become successful.

Once a broker joins Savvy, you'll play an important role in helping them get established, understand our systems and processes, develop their sales capability and ultimately grow their loan volumes and business.

Your previous experience as an Asset Finance Broker will allow you to provide practical, credible support rather than simply managing the relationship from a distance.

Key Responsibilities

Proactively identify and onboard brokers into the Savvy network.

Build and manage a strong pipeline of prospective brokers.

Directly approach potential broker candidates.

Present the Savvy broker opportunity and clearly communicate our value proposition.

Manage prospective brokers through the recruitment and onboarding process.

Assist new brokers with their transition into the Savvy network.

Train and support brokers across sales processes, systems, lead management and customer engagement.

Help brokers improve their conversion rates, productivity and overall loan volumes.

Share practical Asset Finance Broking knowledge and experience with newer brokers.

Work with individual brokers to identify opportunities to grow their businesses.

Build strong ongoing relationships with brokers across your region.

Monitor broker activity and performance and proactively assist where additional support is required.

Conduct regular broker meetings, training sessions and business development activities.

Attend industry events, conferences, networking functions and Savvy events.

Work closely with Savvy's management, operations, credit and marketing teams to support broker growth.

Achieve agreed broker targets

About You

This role is designed for someone who understands Asset Finance Broking from firsthand experience.

You Must Have:

Previous experience working as an Asset Finance Broker.

Strong knowledge of vehicle and asset finance.

A solid understanding of the end-to-end Asset Finance Broking process.

Strong sales and relationship-building skills.

Confidence with prospecting

The ability to build rapport quickly and communicate confidently with experienced finance professionals.

A strong commercial and sales mindset.

The ability to work autonomously and create your own opportunities.

Strong organisation, pipeline management and follow-up disciplines.

A genuine interest in helping other brokers succeed.

A current driver's licence and willingness to travel within your region when required.

Who This Role Will Suit

You may currently be an experienced Asset Finance Broker who has spent several years writing loans and is wondering what the next stage of your career looks like.

You still enjoy asset finance. You still enjoy talking deals. You still enjoy sales.

But you're ready to use that experience differently.

This role gives you the opportunity to move into business development while remaining closely connected to Asset Finance Broking.

Instead of measuring your success purely by the loans you personally write, you'll help develop a network of brokers and see their businesses grow.
