Job summary

The Australian Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet invites applications for a Business Analyst within the Whole of Government Systems Branch in Canberra, ACT. The role supports the design, development and sustainment of bespoke digital solutions that enable secure information sharing across government.

You will engage with business stakeholders to elicit requirements, translate them into viable solutions, and collaborate with technical teams throughout the SDLC and Agile environments.

Qualifications

• A minimum of 2 years’ experience as a business analyst
• Demonstrated experience in requirements elicitation, analysis and documentation, business rules definition and process and workflow design
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with business and technical stakeholders
• Strong attention to detail and analytical skills
• Demonstrated experience working within SDLC and Agile environments

Responsibilities

• Engage with business stakeholders to elicit, capture and document business processes, requirements and business rules
• Analyse and translate business requirements into viable solutions
• Act as a conduit between business and technical teams, ensuring requirements are clearly understood and communicated
• Coordinate and liaise with stakeholders, including facilitating workshops, discussions and other requirements-gathering activities
• Develop and maintain documentation to support new and proposed functionality
• Prepare mock-ups, presentations and other supporting materials as required
• Support demonstrations and validation of new and enhanced functionality with stakeholders
• Mentor junior team members and support knowledge sharing across the team
• Undertake other duties as required.
