Job summary

Spotlight Retail Group in Melbourne is seeking a capable Business/Systems Analyst to lead SDLC activities, gather requirements, map processes, and collaborate with stakeholders to implement solutions. You will participate in agile ceremonies and ensure high-quality documentation across the project lifecycle.

The role offers a hybrid working arrangement, exposure to SRG brands, and opportunities for career progression within one of Australia’s largest retail groups.

Qualifications

• Proven ability to gather and document business requirements, functional requirements, and design options.
• Experience mapping current to future processes and producing end-to-end designs.
• Able to map business processes and articulate requirements with quality documentation.
• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement across cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Manage SDLC including business cases, requirements gathering, solution options, design and implementation.
• Train users to leverage SRG systems to meet business objectives.
• Participate in sprint ceremonies: refinements, planning, stand-ups, retrospectives, showcases.
• Map as-is and to-be processes during requirements gathering.
• Refine requirements with stakeholders for sprint planning.
• Assess gaps and document end-to-end process design for the project team.
• Help develop acceptance criteria with business areas.
• Support detailed design, build, testing, and implementation.
• Provide after-hours on-call support in line with SLAs.

What You Will Be Doing

• Manage SDLC methodology including Business Case, Requirements Gathering, Solution Options, Design and Implementation of solutions
• Work with and train users to leverage SRG systems to meet business objectives
• Participate in all sprint ceremonies that include refinements, planning, stand‑ups, retrospectives, showcases
• Map as‑is and to‑be business processes as part of the requirements gathering process
• Analyse detailed requirements from business areas, working closely with business stakeholders and other key areas to refine their requirements in preparation for Sprint Planning
• Assess business process gaps and articulate the business requirements and end‑to‑end process design to the project team, including the provision of quality documentation and diagrams
• Assist the business areas to develop acceptance criteria
• Support the project team during the detailed design and build phases
• Support the planning, testing and implementation of the business changesSupport the Test Team to develop and execute functional test cases
• Providing appropriate on‑call after hours support in line with SLAs

About You

• You will have excellent analytical, problem solving and consulting skills
• Proven ability to engage with internal customers to gather and document business requirements, functional requirements, solution options, design, architect solutions and implement solutions
• Demonstrated ability to produce high quality documentation - ability to ‘tell the story’
• Strong process mapping and process design skills
• Strong understanding of retail and business processes
• Experience with project management methodologies and SDLC
• Ability to explain technical systems, problems & outcomes to non‑technical people
• Excellent communication skills – listening, written and verbal
• Cross Functional experience re Merchandise, Retail Operations, Supply Chain, Marketing, Omnichannel, HR, Finance, Etc
• Experience working with collaboration tools such as JIRA, Confluence, Slack, etc.
