Job summary

A large complex organisation in the Utilities sector is seeking a Business Analyst for their Azure Consumption Project in Queensland, Australia. The successful candidate will assist in managing the transition to Microsoft Sustainability Manager (MSM) and work with Power BI and Azure Fabric. A bachelor's degree and proven IT project experience are required, along with strong skills in requirements gathering and stakeholder engagement.

Our client, a large complex organisation within the Utilities sector, is currently recruiting for a Business Analyst to start asap on their Azure Consumption Project. Working closely with the Project Manager, the successful applicant will support the delivery of the Azure Consumption project – a key initiative focused on managing the transition to Microsoft Sustainability Manager (MSM) and consolidating Power BI and Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW) onto Azure Fabric. While a BA skill set is required, experience in change management is also favourable as there is a small change component associated with this project.

Responsibilities

• Capture and manage end-to-end business and functional requirements to support the transition to MSM and Azure Fabric.
• Develop user stories and test scenarios for UAT and Go‑Live, ensuring traceability to business outcomes.
• Review supplier documentation and finalise business rules for BAU handover.
• Analyse current workflows and recommend improvements across people, process, data, and systems.
• Ensure quality and consistency of business analysis deliverables through peer review and alignment to standards.
• Support change activities including stakeholder engagement, training materials, and FAQs.
• Assist in SIT and UAT to validate business requirements and ensure readiness for deployment.

Experience and Skills

• Proven experience as a Business Analyst in digital or IT projects, ideally involving cloud platforms and data analytics.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Azure, Power BI, EDW, and MSM highly regarded.
• Experience supporting digital change initiatives and stakeholder engagement.
• Strong skills in requirements gathering, documentation, and user story creation.
• Comfortable reviewing technical documentation and supporting BAU transition.
• Experience with UAT, SIT, and release coordination.
• Proficient in business analysis tools (e.g. JIRA, Confluence).
