Job summary

Reserve Bank of Australia is seeking a seasoned Business Analyst to join the Payments Operations Program in Sydney. The role focuses on analysing knowledge management and training requirements and coordinating the development of new content and training material with internal SMEs and external providers.

You will work with stakeholders across IT and operations to deliver a cohesive knowledge management and training framework and support the broader POP team in achieving program goals.

• Unique opportunity to join the RBA's Payments Operations Program, which is strengthening Australia's national payments infrastructure and other critical IT and business system.

About the business/role/team

This is a unique opportunity for you to join the Reserve Bank’s Payments Operations Program, which is leading the Bank's work to strengthen its operation of RITS, Australia's real-time gross settlement system, and other critical national payments infrastructure. These payments systems move around $300 billion dollars between financial institutions each day and ultimately settle all non-cash payments in Australia. They are essential for supporting the day-to-day business of the Australian economy.

The role will report to the Manager of the Knowledge Management and Training Workstream and will be working with other members of the team, RBA stakeholders and external providers to analyse knowledge management and training requirements and help co-ordinate the development and rollout of new knowledge management and training arrangements and content.

The Payments Operations Program is a large, business led program which is working to: uplift the operating model and resourcing for the RITS ecosystem; strengthen shared services processes and IT controls that support RITS and related systems; and improve knowledge management processes and systems and related training programs for staff supporting RITS.

About the role

• Work with RBA stakeholders to analyse and document detailed knowledge management and training requirements.
• Develop new processes and procedures to support the rollout of a new knowledge management arrangements and training framework.
• Help co-ordinate the build of new knowledge content and training material, working with RBA subject matter experts and external providers to assess, refine and implement new material.
• Assist with other business analysis work, as needed, in the business streams of the Payments Operations Programs.
• Work closely with the Project Manager (KM & Training) and the Senior Business SME to deliver the Knowledge Management and Training workstream
• The role will work closely with the broader POP team, external professional services firms and relevant staff in Payments Settlements and IT.
• You will also enjoy working and collaborating with multiple high performing teams committed to team goals and deliverables

• Strong expertise and experience in business analysis
• Outcomes driven, with a strong delivery focus and experience in working in a matrix organisation structure
• Stakeholder engagement and communication across delivery and support teams
• Experience working in cross-functional teams including IT and operations
• Strong communication and writing skills with proven stakeholder management experience
• Experience at prioritising and working in a deadline-oriented environment
• Strong team player to work with multiple collaborative teams is essential
• Familiarity of banking or payment systems is desirable
