Job summary

Epworth HealthCare, Victoria’s largest not-for-profit private health system, invites applications for a full-time Finance Analyst based at Epworth Hawthorn Hospital. You will underpin sustainable operations with financial and operational analysis and reporting across the hospital.

You will report to the Finance Manager, hold a Bachelor degree in Business/Accounting/Commerce, or related analytical discipline, and bring proven analytical capability to drive performance and budgeting initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in Business, Accounting/Commerce or related discipline.
• CA or CPA not required but preferred for progression.
• Experience in financial analysis and budgeting in a healthcare or large organisation.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality financial analysis and reporting to the Executive team and clinical management.
• Support the Finance Manager in month-end closing and reporting processes.
• Assist in preparing the annual hospital budget with Executive input and functional managers.
• Analyse revenue and cost opportunities to improve operational and financial performance.
• Forecast activity, revenue, and costs with clinical and management input.
• Support Epworth Group-wide finance initiatives and projects.

Job Description

In this full time Finance Analyst role based at Epworth Hawthorn Hospital, you will be responsible for Financial and Operational processes and analysis that underpins the sustainable operation of the Hospital.

You will be part of the management team and report to the Finance Manager, and must hold a Bachelor Degree or higher in Business and/or Accounting/Commerce, or other analytical discipline with demonstrated experience working in an finance analytical role.

You will make an impact by:

• Providing high quality and responsive financial and analysis support to the Executive team and internal business customers, largely the clinical management team
• Supporting the Finance Manager to deliver the month end financial reporting process
• Supporting the Finance Manager to create the annual Hospital budget in conjunction with the Executive team and Managers
• Analysing revenue and cost opportunities within the Hospital
• Identify and understand issues, problems and opportunities to deliver strategic changes to drive both operational and financial performance
• Engage with both clinical and management team to forecast activity, revenue and costs
• Supporting the Epworth Group wide finance function, including involvement in group wide projects

To be successful in this role…

You will be technically proficient but will enjoy engaging with clinical and management professionals when applying your financial and analytical acumen in a way that helps them achieve the Organisation’s operational and financial goals.

You will have:

• Bachelor Degree or Higher in Business, Accounting/Commerce, or other analytical discipline, with CA or CPA
• Financial management and business management experience
• Proven ability to work independently, and to set and achieve goals and objectives
• Demonstrated history of identifying and helping deliver operational improvements
• Strong interpersonal and relationship skills to complement your sound financial analytical skills
• Aspiration to build your Healthcare industry knowledge and progress your career
