Job summary

Country Fire Authority (CFA) in Shepparton is seeking a Vegetation Management Support Officer to coordinate resources for planned burning and fuel management across the district. You will liaise with Forest Fire Management Victoria (FFMVic) and CFA volunteers to match burn locations, timing and tasking with suitably skilled personnel.

Qualifications

• Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills with strong attention to detail.
• Good problem-solving abilities and ability to foster inter-agency relationships.
• Strong IT skills including Microsoft products, mapping tools and database programs.
• Knowledge of Fuel Management Treatments and Planned Burning, and resource planning.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate resources between CFA and Forest Fire Management Victoria (FFMVic).
• Match burn locations, timing and tasking with appropriately skilled staff and volunteers.
• Support vegetation management programs and planned burning activities.
• Assist with VMO-related duties as required, contributing to safe and well-coordinated vegetation management outcomes.
