Job summary

Volvo Trucks Australia is seeking a Bus Mechanic for our Prestons, NSW workshop. You will focus on the Volvo Bus range, handling steering, electrical faults, brakes, driveline and preventive maintenance while contributing to a safety-forward team environment.

The role is permanent, Monday–Friday with day and afternoon shifts, offering a starting rate of AUD 43–50 per hour based on experience and a supportive team culture with relocation sponsorship for international technicians.

Qualifications

• Must hold a Heavy Commercial Vehicle mechanical qualification.
• Proven experience working on buses.
• Some exposure to light auto-electrical work.
• A pro-active attitude with a drive to work efficiently.
• A positive safety attitude with a team-focused mindset.

What You Will Do

As a Bus Mechanic, you will focus purely on the Volvo Bus range. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

• Steering and suspension repairs
• Electrical faults, diagnosis and repairs
• Braking systems diagnosis and repairs
• Component overhauls
• Driveline repairs
• Preventative maintenance services and repairs
• Offisite and breakdown repairs.

Your future team

This role will be based at our Volvo Commercial Vehicles (VCV) dealership in Prestons. Reporting to the Workshop Manager, the greater workshop team is made up of Mechanics, Auto-Electricians, Trades Assistants, Apprentices, Service Advisor's and Costing Clerk's. The Prestons team pride themselves on running a quality and highly efficient operation, in a supportive and good-humoured team environment.
