Job summary

Metrowest is seeking a commercially astute Building Maintenance Supervisor to lead field-based teams across general building upkeep and commercial fit-outs in Perth. This hands-on role requires strong technical knowledge, practical problem-solving and the ability to coordinate day-to-day priorities while maintaining safety and quality standards.

Reporting to the Building Services Maintenance Manager, you will manage scheduling, drive project delivery, and foster strong stakeholder relationships.

Qualifications

• Carpentry trade qualification required.
• Minimum 5 years supervisory experience or running your own business.
• Exposure to estimating/quoting is highly regarded.
• Unlimited work rights in Australia.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
• Commercial experience in construction, maintenance, facilities management, or trade services.

About the Role

We are growing our facilities maintenance team and are looking for a capable Building Maintenance Supervisor who enjoys leading people, solving problems and keeping jobs moving smoothly. This role would suit someone with strong technical knowledge, sound commercial experience and a practical, hands-on approach to supporting field-based teams.

Reporting to the Building Services Maintenance Manager, you will oversee field-based teams working across a variety of tasks, from general building maintenance through to commercial fit-outs, including demolition, framing, ceilings, partitioning, doors and finishing. You will play a key role in coordinating day-to-day priorities, monitoring progress, supporting scheduling and ensuring work is delivered safely, efficiently and to a high standard.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will need:

• Carpentry Trade qualification, with
• A minimum of 5 years’ supervisory experience, or experience running your own business, including scheduling or managing field staff
• Exposure to estimating or quoting will be highly regarded
• Unlimited work rights in Australia
• Confidence using Microsoft Office products
• Unlimited work rights in Australia
• Commercial experience within construction, maintenance, facilities management or trade services

It would also be beneficial if you have:

• Strong organisational and communication skills
• Basic knowledge of NCC / BCA
• Exposure to project coordination
• Ability to manage multiple jobs and competing priorities
• Strong customer service and stakeholder management skills
• Sound understanding of construction and maintenance processes
• A proactive and solutions-focused approach
