Job summary

Campaspe Shire Council is seeking a qualified Building Inspector to provide technical guidance, conduct onsite inspections, and support the Municipal Building Surveyor to ensure regulatory compliance.

The role involves inspections to verify compliance with the Building Act, assisting with POPE inspections, and enforcement activities including briefs of evidence and liaison with legal representatives.

Qualifications

• Must hold registration in Building Inspector category with BPC.
• Experience in the public or private building sector.
• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement capability.
• Compliance with relevant building laws and codes of practice.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical guidance and onsite inspections.
• Assist Municipal Building Surveyor and Building Coordinator with statutory duties.
• Perform inspections to check conformity with Building Act and regulations.
• Inspect POPEs and participate in enforcement where required.
• Prepare briefs of evidence and liaise with legal representatives for court hearings.
