Job summary

Fraser Coast Regional Council is seeking a Certified Building Inspector (Level 2 or above) to lead statutory building certification across the region. You will provide expert technical advice, ensure safe, compliant development, and manage inspections and certificates.

The role offers relocation assistance, a retention allowance based on experience, a 9-day fortnight for Stream A, and a vehicle for commuter use. Remote work is possible with on-site travel as needed.

Qualifications

• Minimum QBCC Building Certifier Level 2.
• Expert knowledge of Building Act 1975, Building Regulation 2006, codes, local laws and Planning Act 2016.
• High level of oral and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Support and assist the Manager Development Compliance and Plumbing Services as Council’s principal Building Certifier.
• Manage regulatory breaches by monitoring and reporting on illegal build matters.
• Provide expert advice to the public on building certification and compliance issues.
