Job summary

Northern Trust in Sydney is seeking a newly created Brokerage Operations professional for the APAC team. You will contribute to trade support, settlements, reconciliation, governance and control processes, and liaise with internal and external stakeholders to ensure accurate and timely delivery.

You'll work across Equity and Fixed Income workflows, monitor timelines, apply risk controls, and look for practical improvements to drive efficiency and service quality in a fast-paced market

Qualifications

• Expanded conceptual and practical knowledge of market and process fundamentals for APAC Equity/Fixed Income.
• Experience with trade processing, settlement, reconciliation and related operational controls.
• Understanding regulatory requirements and risk awareness in capital markets.
• Ability to prioritize and communicate across APAC time zones.

Responsibilities

• Performs capital markets operations across trade support, settlement, reconciliation, account maintenance, documentation, or control-related processes.
• Supports APAC domicile client base and inbound APAC execution from global clients; escalates complex matters.
• Analyzes transactions and data to resolve problems in straightforward situations using judgement.
• Monitors processing timelines, communicates status, and coordinates with peers to ensure timely delivery.
• Applies understanding of core business drivers and capital markets requirements to support team goals.
• Reviews transactions and records for accuracy and compliance with guidelines and controls.
