Australian Radio Network in Victoria is seeking a Broadcast and Video Systems Technologist to support, maintain and enhance our broadcast and video technology platforms, ensuring reliable studio, simulcast, streaming and distribution services across ARN's brands.

You will manage lifecycles, deliver projects, collaborate with Content and Technology teams, and help drive innovation, security alignment and operational resilience in a fast-paced, live environment.

Qualifications

  • Experience supporting broadcast, video or media technology platforms in a live environment.
  • Strong technical expertise across video playout, simulcast, streaming, cameras, lighting and AV production.
  • Ability to troubleshoot complex issues while maintaining service availability in fast-paced settings.
  • Experience delivering upgrades, enhancements and projects from implementation to handover.
  • Knowledge of broadcast IP networks, media transport protocols, systems integration and cloud workflows.
  • Strong stakeholder management and cross-team communication skills.
  • Understanding of cyber security, resilience, change management and governance practices.
  • Curious, proactive approach to emerging media, automation and AI-enabled production.

Responsabilités

  • Support, maintain and enhance ARN's broadcast and video technology platforms to ensure reliable delivery of studio, simulcast, streaming and distribution services.
  • Manage lifecycle of broadcast and video systems, including maintenance, upgrades, performance optimisation, incident resolution and operational support.
  • Deliver technology projects and enhancements, define requirements, implement solutions, test functionality and support adoption.
  • Support and optimise simulcast platforms, cameras, lighting, AV mixing equipment and production infrastructure.
  • Investigate and resolve complex technical issues across broadcast and video environments, minimizing business disruption.
  • Partner with Content and Technology teams to identify opportunities for innovation and improved audience experiences.
  • Contribute to design, implementation and support of new broadcast and video capabilities, aligned with security, operational and technology standards.
  • Evaluate emerging broadcast, media production and AI-enabled technologies, providing recommendations for innovation and business objectives.

About the role:
  • Support, maintain and enhance ARN's broadcast and video technology platforms to ensure the reliable delivery of studio, simulcast, streaming and video distribution services.
  • Manage the lifecycle of broadcast and video systems, including maintenance, upgrades, performance optimisation, incident resolution and operational support.
  • Deliver technology projects and enhancements, working with stakeholders to define requirements, implement solutions, test functionality and support successful adoption.
  • Support and optimise simulcast platforms, cameras, lighting, audio/video mixing equipment and production infrastructure to meet operational and business requirements.
  • Investigate and resolve complex technical issues across broadcast and video environments, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations.
  • Partner with Content and Technology teams to identify opportunities for innovation, operational efficiency and improved audience experiences.
  • Contribute to the design, implementation and support of new broadcast and video capabilities, ensuring alignment with security, operational and technology standards.
  • Evaluate emerging broadcast, media production and AI-enabled technologies, providing recommendations that support innovation and business objectives.
About you:
  • Demonstrated experience supporting and maintaining broadcast, video or media technology platforms within a live operational environment.
  • Strong technical expertise across video playout systems, simulcast platforms, streaming services, cameras, lighting and audio/video production infrastructure.
  • Proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues while maintaining service availability in fast-paced environments.
  • Experience delivering technology upgrades, enhancements and projects from implementation through to testing and operational handover.
  • Knowledge of broadcast IP networks, media transport protocols, systems integration and cloud-based media workflows.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across technology, content and operational teams.
  • Understanding of cyber security, operational resilience, change management and technology governance practices.
  • A curious and proactive approach to emerging media, automation and AI-enabled production technologies, with a passion for continuous improvement.
