Job summary

Task Recruitment is seeking an experienced Business Analyst for a Brisbane-based product development team, focusing on a global surface mining technology platform. The role emphasizes translating operational requirements into functional software, working closely with Product Owners, engineers and UX designers to enable the next generation of mining software.

Solid knowledge of surface mining operations is essential, with hands-on involvement in requirements gathering, user stories and acceptance

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Business Analyst within software/tech delivery.
• Solid understanding of surface mining operations, including processes, fleets and production workflows.
• Experience gathering, analysing and documenting requirements for complex software systems.
• Ability to translate operational needs into user stories, acceptance criteria and specs.
• Experience working with Agile product teams.
• Strong business process analysis and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Excellent analytical thinking and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Elicit, analyse and document business requirements, user needs and system behaviours.
• Analyse surface mining processes and workflows, including fleet operations and production activities.
• Collaborate with Product Owners and engineering to refine product requirements.
• Document requirements for the next-generation platform and create user stories with acceptance criteria.
• Facilitate workshops and discovery sessions with stakeholders.
• Support backlog refinement and prioritisation.
• Assist with process mapping, data analysis and workflow optimisation.
• Collaborate with UX designers to align software with operator needs.
• Support end-to-end delivery including validation and UAT.
• Identify risks, gaps and dependencies and help resolve them.
