Job summary

Aequalis Consulting Pty is seeking a Commercial Director for its Brisbane-based infrastructure practice. This senior role leads commercial strategy across major contracts and project portfolios, balancing commercial discipline with delivery outcomes.

You will work with the executive team to govern contracts, manage risk, drive project profitability and oversee performance across the portfolio while building high-performing commercial teams.

Qualifications

• Senior commercial leader with infrastructure or major project experience.
• Proven track record managing commercial outcomes across large contracts.
• Strong negotiation, governance and profitability skills.
• Knowledge of Australian construction contracts and procurement frameworks.

Responsibilities

• Lead the commercial strategy and governance framework across infrastructure projects and business operations.
• Provide executive oversight of contract management, commercial risk and project financial performance.
• Drive commercial outcomes across major contracts including negotiation, procurement, claims, variations and dispute resolution.
• Partner with operational and project delivery leaders to improve commercial performance throughout the project lifecycle.
• Oversee commercial reporting, forecasting, cost management and financial controls across the project portfolio.
• Lead, mentor and develop commercial managers, contract administrators and broader commercial teams.
• Support tendering, bid strategy, contract negotiations and commercial evaluation of new opportunities.
• Build effective relationships with clients, delivery partners, subcontractors and key industry stakeholders.
