Job summary

Leaders is seeking an experienced Cybersecurity Engineer to join a government sector client in Brisbane. The role focuses on assessing security maturity, identifying improvement opportunities, and delivering practical security enhancements to strengthen resilience across the organisation.

You will work with Microsoft security technologies (Entra ID, Defender, Purview) and implement IAM, cloud security, and Zero Trust practices.

Qualifications

• Experience in cyber security and IT risk management within complex enterprise environments.
• Strong experience with Microsoft security technologies, including Entra ID, Defender, Purview, and broader security, compliance, and identity capabilities.
• Experience designing and implementing Conditional Access, Privileged Identity Management (PIM), and Microsoft security solutions.
• Strong knowledge of identity and access management, cloud security, threat detection and response, and data protection.
• Thorough understanding of the Essential Eight maturity model and Zero Trust security principles.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences.

Responsibilities

• Assess the current cyber security maturity and risk landscape and identify opportunities for improvement.
• Drive targeted security uplift initiatives and uplift security posture.
• Design and deliver practical security enhancements to improve resilience across the organisation.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to implement measures.
