Job summary

Moray & Agnew is seeking a lawyer in Brisbane with a minimum of 3 years’ post-admission experience in defendant insurance, focusing on motor vehicle accident/CTP claims. The role offers exposure to major insurer clients and a diverse portfolio of matters, with opportunities to enhance advocacy, negotiation and dispute resolution skills.

Qualifications

• A minimum of 3 years' post-admission experience, ideally in defendant insurance
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong drafting ability
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
• The ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines
• Sound judgment, initiative and a proactive approach to problem solving
• A collaborative mindset and a willingness to learn from experienced mentors
• A practical and commercially focused approach to achieving positive client outcomes

Responsibilities

• Managing a portfolio of defendant CTP matters
• Drafting legal advice and correspondence
• Liaising with clients, claimant solicitors and other stakeholders
• Briefing and working with medical experts and Counsel
• Attending conferences, mediations and court appearances
• Assisting with dispute resolution strategies to achieve commercially sound outcomes for clients
