Job summary

Michael Page Australia is seeking a senior Test Automation Lead in Brisbane to define and drive enterprise automation strategy. You will own governance, roadmaps and a scalable framework across multiple teams and vendors.

The role requires 8+ years in test automation with leadership experience, strong programming in JavaScript/TypeScript, C# or Python, and hands-on API/UI automation across complex enterprise systems.

Qualifications

• Minimum 8 years' experience in test automation, including at least 3 years in senior or lead roles.
• Proven experience defining enterprise automation strategy and implementing prioritised roadmaps, operating models, standards and governance through sustained delivery.
• Strong programming and scripting proficiency in relevant language(s), such as JavaScript/TypeScript, C# or Python, with the ability to review code and guide engineers.

Responsibilities

• Define, refine and implement the enterprise automation strategy and operating model across BAU, Projects and Vendors.
• Maintain a prioritised implementation and coverage roadmap with milestones and measurable targets.
• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines with reliable gates and evidence.
• Design, maintain and evolve scalable automation frameworks and reusable assets; manage tooling and technical debt.
• Triage the regression estate and deliver uplift in waves against acceptance criteria.
• Design, build and maintain UI, API, back-end, integration and end-to-end tests across complex workflows.
• Coordinate environment readiness, test data management and security considerations; lead automation engineers across teams.
• Analyse defects and failures to distinguish product issues from test faults and close gaps.
• Coordinate automation delivery and capacity across BAU, Projects and Vendors; provide release-gate recommendations.
• Assure vendor and partner automation quality and handover readiness.
• Report coverage, pass rate, execution time and trends to governance forums.
