Job summary

Transport for NSW is seeking a hands-on Bridge Maintenance Worker based in Bega, NSW. This permanent full-time on-site role involves maintaining bridges and culverts, operating plant and tools, and supporting safety-driven maintenance across the district.

You will work with a dedicated team, travel as required, and participate in after-hours callouts. A current driver licence and WHS readiness are essential. Aboriginal people and people with disability are encouraged to apply.

Qualifications

• Current Australian Class C Driver Licence (minimum P1 Provisional Licence).
• Willingness to obtain any required licences, tickets, or certifications.
• Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces (training provided).
• Flexibility to travel and work away from home as required.
• Residence within 100km radius of the Bega Depot.

Responsibilities

• Carry out labouring and manual handling tasks on bridge and culvert maintenance projects.
• Assist in maintenance/repair of timber, steel, and concrete bridges; support other trades and painting as required.
• Operate a range of small plant, machinery and hand tools safely and effectively.
• Complete routine and more complex maintenance activities with limited supervision.
• Identify and address routine issues using established procedures; collaborate with supervisors on complex challenges.
• Contribute to a safe and productive work environment by following WHS requirements.
• Travel across the district and work away from home when operationally required.
• Participate in after-hours callouts and emergency response activities when needed.
