Job summary

The Queensland Government, through BreastScreen Queensland (BSQ), invites a Breast Imaging Fellowship candidate for a part-time role (0.3 FTE, 16–24 hours per fortnight) for 6 months. The position provides advanced exposure to breast imaging, mammographic screening, and supervised interventional services within BSQ’s multidisciplinary team.

On completion, the Fellow gains in-depth understanding of breast imaging principles, participates in audits, teaching, and research aligned with BSQ

Qualifications

• Interest in a career in breast imaging.
• Ability to undertake breast imaging, mammographic screen reading and interventional services under supervision.
• Commitment to evidence-based practice, research and quality improvement activities.
• Participation in teaching, research activities and MDT meetings.
• Awareness of BreastScreen Australia National Accreditation Standards and BSQ Standards.
• Collaborative interprofessional team working and effective communication.
• Professional conduct with respect for diverse backgrounds.

Responsibilities

• Undertake breast imaging, mammographic screen reading and interventional services under supervision to support BSQ diagnostic clinics and fellowship curriculum.
• Participate in clinico-pathology and MDT meetings, clinical audits and risk management activities.
• Facilitate a learning environment by sharing knowledge and supporting colleagues’ development.
• Develop awareness of accreditation standards and relate them to practice.
• Collaborate with interprofessional team to ensure positive patient outcomes and department objectives.
• Model professional behaviour, promote respectful, ethical decision making and good communication.
• Ensure fair treatment of patients and staff regardless of background.
