Job summary

BuildRight Construction AU is launching a new breakfast operation in New South Wales. We seek an experienced Breakfast Sous Chef to step into hands-on leadership and work closely with the Head Chef to establish a high-quality breakfast offering from the ground up.

You will influence menus, develop kitchen systems, mentor a small team and help shape the food direction of this growing hospitality project. The role includes a permanent full-time position with an 38-hour, five-day roster and

Qualifications

• Minimum 2–5 years' experience as a Sous Chef or similar senior kitchen role.
• Strong experience in breakfast/brunch-focused kitchens.
• Proven ability to supervise and develop junior chefs.
• Confident leadership skills and ability to lead by example.
• Knowledge of stock control, ordering, food safety and kitchen procedures.

Responsibilities

• Lead the daily breakfast preparation and service operation.
• Work closely with the Head Chef to establish efficient kitchen systems.
• Supervise and guide a team of up to five breakfast chefs.
• Train and mentor junior kitchen team members.
• Contribute ideas to breakfast menus, seasonal dishes and daily specials.
• Maintain high standards of food quality, consistency and presentation.
