Job description

Bring stories to life, grow a purpose-led brand and make a meaningful impact.

SSI is seeking a creative and organised Brand & Marketing Officer to support engaging campaigns, content and digital experiences across our diverse, mission-driven organisation.

This is an ideal opportunity for an early-career marketer with around 2–3 years’ experience who is ready to broaden their skills in content creation, social media, campaign coordination and brand marketing.

The Brand and Marketing Officer position is a full-time max term contract until end June 2027, with flexibility to be based from either our Sydney or Brisbane offices.

About the role

In this varied, hands-on role, you will help strengthen SSI’s brand, visibility and engagement by delivering audience-focused campaigns, content and digital activity across the organisation. Working collaboratively with program and corporate teams, you will turn ideas and community stories into timely, accessible and impactful marketing that supports organisational and program outcomes.

Working with the Brand & Marketing Lead and teams across SSI, you will:

  • Create and repurpose written, visual and multimedia content.
  • Coordinate campaigns across social media, email, web and digital advertising.
  • Maintain content calendars and support day-to-day digital channels.
  • Apply SSI’s brand, messaging, accessibility and safeguarding standards.
  • Track campaign performance and translate data into practical insights.
  • Coordinate stakeholders, suppliers, schedules and marketing assets.
  • Support events, partnerships and organisation-wide initiatives.
About you

You are a proactive and adaptable marketer who combines creativity with sound judgement, taking ownership of competing priorities while maintaining quality and attention to detail. You build trusted relationships across diverse teams and bring genuine sensitivity to ethical, community-centred storytelling.

You will bring:

  • Degree or diploma in Marketing, Communications, Digital Media, Journalism, PR or a related field, or equivalent professional experience
  • 2–3 years’ experience in marketing, communications, content or digital media.
  • Strong writing and content-creation skills.
  • Hands-on experience managing social media channels.
  • Confidence using Canva, Adobe Creative Suite or similar tools.
  • Familiarity with email marketing, websites, SEO and analytics.
  • Excellent organisation and the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • A collaborative, curious and solutions-focused approach.
  • Sensitivity when creating content with and about diverse communities.
  • Experience in the not-for-profit, community services or social-impact sector is desirable, but not essential.
