Job summary

Chadwicks Forklifts is establishing a Queensland operation and seeks a Branch Manager to take ownership of the Brisbane (Yatala) base. You will help launch the new branch, build the local customer base and lead the initial Queensland team.

The role reports to the CEO/MD and involves hands-on involvement across customers, sales, rental, fleet, service and admin as the operation grows.

Qualifications

• Must have genuine materials handling, forklift, equipment rental or related industry experience.
• Strong knowledge of forklift, materials handling, equipment rental or related capital equipment.

Responsibilities

• Establish and manage the day-to-day Queensland operation.
• Develop and grow relationships with existing and prospective customers in Queensland.
• Identify and pursue new sales, rental and business development opportunities.
• Develop the local forklift and materials handling rental/hire business.
• Manage fleet utilisation, availability, deployment and commercial performance.
• Coordinate service, maintenance, transport and operational requirements to deliver excellent customer service.
• Establish and manage relationships with local suppliers, contractors and service providers.
• Recruit, develop and lead the initial Queensland team.
• Establish effective branch processes, systems and reporting as the operation develops.
• Maintain a strong focus on safety, compliance, customer service and commercial discipline.
• Work closely with the broader Chadwicks team to ensure Queensland operation is fully supported.
• Take a hands-on approach and be prepared to get involved during establishing phase.

Build and lead our new Queensland operation.

Chadwicks Forklifts is an established Australian materials handling business with more than 30 years' industry experience, providing customers with forklift sales, short and long-term rentals, tailored materials handling solutions, service and parts.

Following continued growth and investment in the business, we are now establishing our Queensland operation and are looking for an experienced and commercially minded Branch Manager to take ownership of our new Brisbane (Yatala) -based operation.

This is a genuine opportunity to be involved from the beginning. Rather than stepping into an established branch, you will help establish the operation, develop the customer base, build the local team and put the foundations in place for long-term growth while still following the model and strategy that has made Chadwicks a leader in the industry”

THE ROLE

Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer & Managing Director, you will be an integral member of the Chadwicks leadership team and work closely with the senior leadership group across the business.

Initially, the role will be highly hands-on. You will be involved across the full operation as we establish our Queensland presence, including customers, sales, rental and fleet, service, suppliers, administration and team development.

As the operation grows, you will build and lead the Queensland team, with the initial plan to establish a local team comprising yourself and two experienced technicians.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Take overall responsibility for establishing and managing the day-to-day Queensland operation.
• Develop and grow relationships with existing and prospective customers across the Queensland market.
• Identify and pursue new sales, rental and business development opportunities.
• Develop the local forklift and materials handling rental/hire business.
• Manage fleet utilisation, availability, deployment and commercial performance.
• Coordinate service, maintenance, transport and operational requirements to deliver a high level of customer service.
• Establish and manage relationships with local suppliers, contractors and service providers.
• Recruit, develop and lead the initial Queensland team.
• Establish effective branch processes, systems and reporting as the operation develops.
• Maintain a strong focus on safety, compliance, customer service and commercial discipline.
• Work closely with the broader Chadwicks team to ensure the Queensland operation is fully supported by the wider business.
• Take a hands-on approach and be prepared to get involved wherever required during the establishment phase.

ABOUT YOU

We are looking for someone with genuine materials handling, forklift, equipment rental or related industry experience, combined with the commercial capability and energy to establish a new operation.

You may currently be a Branch Manager, Rental Manager, Operations Manager, Sales Manager or senior industry professional looking for an opportunity to take greater ownership of a business.

You will ideally bring:

• Strong knowledge of the forklift, materials handling, equipment rental or related capital equipment industry.
• A good understanding of rental/hire operations, fleet utilisation and asset management.
• A proven ability to develop customer relationships and generate new business.
• Strong commercial awareness and an understanding of branch P&L performance.
• Experience leading, developing and recruiting people.
• A practical and hands-on approach to leadership.
• The ability to work autonomously while collaborating effectively with a broader leadership team.
• Strong communication, organisation and negotiation skills.
• A genuine commitment to safety, customer service and doing what you say you will do.
• Most importantly, you will be someone who enjoys building relationships, solving problems and getting things done.
