Job summary

Cleanaway Waste Management is seeking an experienced Branch Manager for our Lavington operation, overseeing a team of over 50 with four direct reports. You will lead day-to-day operations, focus on safety, compliance, and strong customer relationships across the Albury–Wodonga region.

The role requires proven operational leadership, change management capabilities and experience managing P&L, contracts and performance in logistics or industrial settings.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day operations of the branch with emphasis on efficiency, safety and NHV law compliance.
• Oversee staff and fleet operations, ensuring vehicle maintenance and regulatory compliance.
• Coach and mentor the team to meet KPI and safety standards.
• Champion safety initiatives and investigate incidents to foster a safety-first culture.
• Manage the branch P&L focusing on cost control and financial performance.
• Collaborate with fleet, commercial, resource recovery and other functions to deliver strong customer outcomes.

The Opportunity

We’re looking for an experienced Branch Manager to lead our Lavington operation, servicing the broader Albury–Wodonga region. You’ll lead a team of more than 50 employees, supported by four direct reports across operations, administration and the liquid treatment plant.

This is an opportunity for an established operational leader who is comfortable managing complexity, leading large frontline teams and building strong relationships with customers, councils and internal stakeholders. You’ll bring a calm, confident leadership style and the ability to balance safety, compliance, people and commercial outcomes.

Key Responsibilities Will Include

• Manage the day-to-day operations of the branch, ensuring efficiency, safety, and compliance with National Heavy Vehicle Law.
• Oversee staff and the branch's fleet operations, ensuring vehicles are maintained and compliant with regulations.
• Coach and mentor the team, ensuring they are equipped to meet operational KPI and safety standards.
• Champion safety initiatives, investigate incidents, and build a safety-first culture within the team, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
• Manage the branch’s profit and loss (P&L), focusing on cost control, financial performance, and operational results.
• Partner effectively across fleet, commercial, resource recovery and other functions to deliver strong customer and business outcomes.

About You

You’re an experienced operational leader who knows how to bring structure, stability and accountability to a complex environment.

You’ll Bring

• Proven experience leading large operational and frontline teams within logistics, manufacturing, industrial or similarly complex operations environments.
• Demonstrated safety leadership and experience driving compliance and operational discipline.
• Experience managing P&L, contracts and operational performance.
• Demonstrated change management capability and the ability to lead teams through periods of transition.
