Job summary

Royal Botanic Gardens Victoria seeks a Library Professional to maintain and develop its library collections across Melbourne and Cranbourne sites. You will catalogue using RDA and MARC 21 standards, manage print journals, and digitise materials for the Canto DAM system while supporting stakeholder enquiries.

The role requires a Diploma of Library and Information Services, experience in a specialised library, and adeptness with library management systems and Microsoft 365.

Qualifications

• Diploma of Library and Information Services or equivalent; eligibility forALIA
• Experience in a specialised library setting
• Strong understanding of standard library procedures and workflows
• Expertise in cataloguing to RDA and MARC 21 standards, with attention to detail

Responsibilities

• Maintain and develop the library's collections and accessions
• Manage print journals through accessioning and overdue follow‑ups
• Update item records and prepare materials for binding
• Catalogue materials in languages other than English and support Canto DAM digitisation
• Respond to enquiries from diverse stakeholders and provide library tours
