Job summary

A well-respected financial planning firm on the Gold Coast is seeking a Bookkeeping Team Leader to work closely with the Finance Manager. You will be client-centric, leading a small team and providing expert bookkeeping advice across a portfolio of clients.

Your day-to-day includes Xero reconciliations, payroll processing, BAS preparation and lodgement, and general ledger reconciliations. You’ll mentor staff, review work, onboarding new clients, and identify efficiencies across systems.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in a senior team leader/bookkeeping role.
• Cert IV in Bookkeeping or equivalent qualification.
• BAS Agent Registration.
• Proficient in Xero and Excel.
• Strong attention to detail and problem solving.
• Excellent communication and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Lead the bookkeeping team and mentor junior staff.
• Manage a portfolio of clients and provide bookkeeping advice.
• Perform Xero reconciliations and payroll processing.
• Prepare BAS and lodgement.
• Coordinate with Finance Manager and identify new client opportunities.
• Review work for accuracy and completeness.
• Onboard new clients and implement efficient processes.

About the Role

This vacancy is a Bookkeeping Team Leader position which will work closely with the Finance Manager. It is a client centric role and your duties will include:

• Dealing with clients directly to understand their individual requirements
• Provision of relevant bookkeeping advice
• Manage a portfolio of bookkeeping clients
• Undertaking Xero reconciliations
• Payroll processing
• BAS preparation and lodgement
• General ledger and balance sheet reconciliations
• Working with the broader to identify new client opportunities
• Assessment of systems and processes to ensure efficiencies
• Onboarding of new clients
• Assisting the bookkeeping team with mentoring and training
• Review work of the bookkeeping team

About You

You will be a senior level Bookkeeper with a passion for delivering exceptional results for your clients. Your ability to ensure client relationships are top priority will be valued. Additionally, you will have:

• At least 5 years of experience in a similar team leader role
• A Cert IVin Bookkeeping or equivalent qualification
• BAS Agent Registration
• Experience using Xero and Excel
• Excellent attention to detail with the ability to solve problems
• Excellent communication skills
• Initiative and the ability to work well within a team
