Job summary

National Retail Group is seeking a proactive Bookkeeper/Finance Officer to join our Cremorne team, handling day-to-day finance across AP/AR, reconciliations, reporting support and audit prep.

Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will work across multiple entities, maintain accurate records, and liaise with external accountants. Strong Excel and Xero skills, excellent attention to detail, and discretion are essential.

Qualifications

• Experience in bookkeeping or finance roles.
• Experience using Xero or similar cloud-based accounting software.
• Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes.
• Perform bank reconciliations and resolve reconciling items.
• Assist with monthly management reporting and month-end processes.
• Prepare supporting documentation for annual audits and auditor queries.
• Liaise with external accountants and other finance stakeholders.
• Maintain financial spreadsheets and reporting templates.
• Support the Finance Manager with various finance and administration tasks.
• Assist in maintaining accurate financial records across multiple entities.

What You'll Be Doing

What We're Looking For

• Experience in a Bookkeeper, Finance Officer, Assistant Accountant or similar finance role
• Experience using Xero or similar cloud-based accounting software
• Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills
• Excellent attention to detail and a high level of accuracy
• Strong organisational and time management skills
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to manage confidential information with professionalism and discretion

Highly Regarded

• Bookkeeping, accounting or finance qualifications (completed or currently in progress)
• Experience within the property, real estate or professional services sectors
• Experience liaising with external accountants and auditors
• Exposure to trust accounting processes and reconciliations
• Experience using Cirrus8 or similar property management software
