Job summary

D&T Hydraulics & Engineering is seeking a motivated Boilermaker/Welder First Class to join our Mackay facility. You will perform MIG, TIG, and ID welding on hydraulic cylinder components, and contribute to repair, manufacture, and reclamation projects.

You will read engineering drawings, ensure safety and quality workmanship, and work well both independently and as part of a team in a modern workshop environment.

Qualifications

• Trade Qualified Boilermaker or Welder First Class.
• Minimum 3 years' industry experience.
• Experienced in MIG welding; TIG experience highly regarded.
• Skilled in arc gouging and general fabrication.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Forklift, dogging or rigging tickets are beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Perform MIG (solid and fluxcore), TIG, and ID welding on hydraulic cylinder components.
• Manufacture, repair, and reclaim hydraulic cylinders and components.
• Carry out fabrication, pressure vessel welding, and arc gouging as required.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
• Maintain high standards of workmanship, quality, and safety.
• Work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

D&T Hydraulics is a local family-owned hydraulic cylinder repair and manufacturing business. Employing over 100 highly skilled personnel, including Boilermakers, Welders, Fitters, Machinists, Draftspersons, and Trade Assistants, our dedicated workforce is supported by experienced technical, sales, and administration teams. Due to continued growth, we are seeking a motivated and experienced Boilermaker / Welder First Class to join our expanding Mackay facility.

Key Responsibilities

Perform MIG (solid and fluxcore), TIG, and ID welding on hydraulic cylinder components.

Manufacture, repair, and reclaim hydraulic cylinders and associated components.

Carry out fabrication, pressure vessel welding, and arc gouging as required.

Read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.

Maintain high standards of workmanship, quality, and safety.

Work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

About You

Trade Qualified Boilermaker or Welder First Class.

Minimum 3 years' relevant industry experience.

Experienced in MIG welding, with TIG welding experience highly regarded.

Skilled in arc gouging and general fabrication.

Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.

Reliable, motivated, and committed to quality workmanship.

Current driver's licence and reliable transport.

Strong commitment to workplace health, safety, and quality standards.

Experience with ID welders and rotators.

Hydraulic cylinder manufacturing and repair experience.

Forklift, Dogging, or Rigging Tickets.
