Job summary

Norweld Australia in Cairns offers an exciting opportunity for Boilermakers or Welders with aluminium fabrication experience. You will join our head office and production facility in Cairns, working a Monday-Thursday full-time roster with optional overtime on Fridays.

Base salary range of AUD 80k–AUD 85k per year, plus overtime and bonuses. Join a team that values safety, craft quality, and collaborative problem solving in a clean workshop environment.

Qualifications

• The ideal candidate has experience in aluminium fabrication.
• Strong MIG and TIG welding skills are required.
• Excellent quality of work and time management.
• Current relevant licences and certificates, where required.
• Commitment to workplace health & safety.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a multi-skilled team.
• Knowledge of 4x4 makes/models is a plus.
• Passion for outdoors, off-roading and camping is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Carry out welding to manufacture, fabricate and repair parts.
• Ensure trays and canopies are cleaned after welding.
• Work in a team, meet safety and production targets.
• Perform inspections and quality control throughout the process.
• Uphold health and safety of customers, visitors and staff.
• Identify and control workplace hazards; maintain tools and workspace.

THE OPPORTUNITY

Here at Norweld, we are continuing to grow our team to keep up with customer demand! This means we have opportunities for Boilermakers or Welders with experience in aluminium fabrication to join our head office and production facility in Cairns. We offer genuine work/life balance with a Monday-Thursday full-time roster (with optional overtime on Fridays), in a clean workshop, plus staff incentives and monthly production bonuses. High level MIG and TIG welding skills are desirable, as you will be responsible for manufacturing and welding Norweld tray and canopy components for high-end vehicle builds, with the support of an experienced team. Base salary range of $80k-$85k + overtime + bonuses.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Carrying out welding activities to manufacture, fabricate and repair parts and components
• Ensuring trays and canopies are cleaned once work is complete
• Undertaking activities in a team environment and meeting safety and production targets
• Carrying out inspections and quality control throughout the manufacturing and production process
• Ensuring the health and safety of all customers, visitors and team members
• Identifying, assessing and controlling workplace hazards
• Maintaining workplace cleanliness and tool and equipment care
