Job summary

Skout Solutions seeks Boilermakers to support an 8-week shutdown at the Millmerran Power Station, Toowoomba region. 5 days per week, 52.5 hours total, 6am–5pm with overtime applicable after 42 hours.

Hourly rate $69.76 plus overtime rates and weekly allowances. Accommodation provided if not local. Heavy plant maintenance experience preferred and OH&S compliance essential.

Qualifications

• Trade qualification in Boilermaker required.
• Experience with heavy plant maintenance preferred.
• Current driver’s licence and white card required.
• Respirator test will be conducted onsite; clean shaven recommended.

Responsibilities

• Work with trades to achieve plant performance across maintenance during outage.
• Remove and replace spools, rollers and wear plates.
• Perform parent metal repairs and replacement of guards.
• Carry out general fabrication works.
• Complete minor plant isolation and operation.

About the role

Ventia have a contract supporting the maintenance of the Millmerran Power Station and Skout Solutions are seeking Boilermakers to assist for 8 weeks (10.5 hrs work per day) on a Shutdown in the Coal Ash Handling plant of the Millmerran Power Station starting any time the successful applicant is available up to 28/9th September. You will work 5 days per week across atleast 52.5 hours- 6am-5PM.

What's in it for you:

• 5 day work week (10.5 hours work paid per day) in a great team environment. Hourly rate of $69.76 per hour plus OT paid after 42 hours worked in the week (from Friday onwards) of 1.85* for the first 2 hours and 2.0* thereafter.
• Weekly rural allowance paid of $131.25 paid per Week worked aswell as $29.40 tool allowance.
• Opportunity to work on a power station, experience in the resources industry not essential but heavy plant experience is preferred.
• Possibility of more shutdown or longer term work within the business
• Accommodation provided in Toowoomba (1 hour away from power station) if not from Darling Downs region.

Duties include but are not limited to:

• Work with TAs and other tradesmen to achieve plant performance across various maintenance jobs during outage;

• Complete minor plant isolation and operation.

Applicants must possess:

• Working at heights is essential. Confined spaces is preferred.
• Experience with Heavy plant maintenance is preferred
• Trade Qualification (Boilermaker)
• A respirator fit test will be conducted onsite- applicants must be clean shaven in order for the respirator test to be successful.
• A commitment to OH&S practices
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Current drivers licence and white card
