Job summary

Engineering Trades Australia – Lithgow NSW is seeking an experienced Boilermaker for a major power station shutdown in Lithgow. Immediate start with a focus on high-output, fast-paced work through to December 2026.

You will fabricate, install and repair boiler components while reading drawings and maintaining stringent safety standards. The role demands a trade qualification (Cert III Engineering – Fabrication) and White Card, with on-site transportation required.

Qualifications

• Trade qualification as a Boilermaker (Cert III Engineering – Fabrication).
• Experience on power station or industrial shutdowns highly regarded.
• Current White Card (construction induction) is required.
• Must have own transport to Lithgow and be able to undergo pre-employment medical.

Responsibilities

• Fabrication, installation, and repair of boiler components and related equipment.
• Cutting, welding, and fitting of steel plate, pipework, and structural parts.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings and work instructions.
• Conduct inspections, fault-finding, and repairs on boiler systems.
• Work safely in a high-pressure shutdown environment and meet deadlines.
• Coordinate with supervisors and trades to ensure scheduling adherence.
• Maintain documentation including JSAs, permits, and quality records.

• Fabrication, installation, and repair of boiler components, pressure parts, and associated plant equipment
• Cutting, welding, and fitting steel plate, pipework, and structural components to engineering specifications
• Reading and interpreting engineering drawings and work instructions
• Carrying out inspections, fault-finding, and repairs on boiler and associated equipment
• Working safely within a high-pressure shutdown environment, meeting strict deadlines
• Liaising with supervisors, leading hands, and other trades to ensure work is completed to schedule
• Maintaining accurate documentation, including JSAs, permits, and quality records
• Adhering to all site safety procedures and PPE requirements

Requirements:

• Trade qualification as a Boilermaker (Cert III Engineering – Fabrication)
• Previous experience on power station or industrial shutdowns highly regarded
• Current construction induction (White Card)
• Must be able to make your own way to Lithgow (own vehicle required)
• Must be able to complete a pre-employment medical, including drug and alcohol screening
