Skilled Jobs Australia is assisting with a full-time Boilermaker/Metal Fabricator/Welder (First Class) position in SA. The role focuses on repairing and fabricating bespoke products for a large engineering company involved in vehicle body building.

You will join an established team, using apprenticeship-trainings or equivalent experience to interpreted blueprints, perform cutting, shaping, joining and finishing welds, and ensure quality workmanship in a fast-paced environment.

Formación

• Qualified as Boilermaker/Metal Fabricator/Welder (First Class) through an apprenticeship or equivalent.
• AQF Certificate III with at least two years of on-the-job training, or three years of relevant experience may substitute for formal qualifications.
• Study blueprints/drawings/specs to determine job requirements; select, clean and prepare metal stock.

Responsabilidades

• Study blueprints and drawings to determine job requirements.

• Cut marked-out metal sections using hand tools, flame cutting torches, and metal cutting machines.
• Shape and bend metal sections and pipes by hand/tools and heating.
• Align parts to be joined with measuring instruments.
• Join metal sections using welding, bolting, and riveting.
• Examine welds for bead width, penetration and precision.
• Finish products by cleaning, polishing, filing, and bathing in acidic solutions.
• Clean and smooth welds by filing, chiseling, and grinding.
• Work efficiently on your own or with a team.

About the Role:

Our client is a large engineering company specialising in vehicle body building looking to employ Boilermakers / Metal Fabricators / Welders / Welders (First class) to repair and fabricate various bespoke products.

About you:

We are seeking an experienced Boilermaker /Metal Fabricators / Welder/ Welder(First class) with a strong work ethic who takes pride in their work and can work alongside an established team.

To be successful in this role you would need to possess the following:

Qualified as a Boilermaker /Metal Fabricators / Welder/ Welder(First class) through an apprenticeship or equivalent.

AQF Certificate III including at least two years of on-the-job training,

or at least three years of relevant experience may substitute for the formal qualifications

• Study blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine job requirements
• Select, clean, and prepare metal stock
• Cut marked-out metal sections and shapes using hand tools, flame cutting torches and
• metal cutting machines
• Shape and bend metal sections and pipes using hand and machine tools, and by heating
• and hammering
• Align parts to be joined using hand tools and measuring instruments
• Join metal sections using various welding techniques, bolting, and riveting
• Examine welds for width of bead, penetration, and precision
• Finish products by cleaning, polishing, filing, and bathing in acidic solutions
• Clean and smooth welds by filing, chiseling, and grinding
• Able to work efficiently on your own or within a team environment
