Job summary

APG Workforce are currently recruiting a skilled Boilermaker/Metal Fabricator to join our client based in Echuca. This role focuses on welding, fabrication and assembly of high-quality structural steel for domestic and commercial buildings.

The successful candidate will read engineering drawings, operate Mig welders and a range of metalworking equipment, adhere to safety guidelines and contribute to continuous improvement within a collaborative team.

Qualifications

• Formal trade qualifications in Boilermaking, Metal Fabrication, and/or Welding.
• Current Forklift Licence
• White Card
• Minimum 3 years' experience working as a Boilermaker, Metal Fabricator, or Welder
• Strong proficiency in MIG, and other welding techniques
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, diagrams, and specifications
• Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality craftsmanship
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• We are also happy to considerlabourers without qualifications.

Responsibilities

• Performing skilled welding, fabrication and assembly of metal components
• Reading and interpreting engineering drawings.
• Operating a variety of metalworking equipment, including Mig welder, grinders, power tools, oxy, plasma, bandsaws, and spray painting.
• Troubleshooting, basic maintenance, and resolving issues with machinery and equipment
• Adhering to all workplace health and safety guidelines and procedures
• Contributing to a collaborative team environment and continuous improvement initiatives

About the role

This position is integral to the production and fabrication of high-quality structural steel for domestic and commercial buildings. As a key member of the manufacturing team, you will be responsible for carrying out welding, fabrication, and assembly tasks to the highest standards.

Key Responsibilities
