Job summary

Thiess is seeking an experienced Boilermaker to join the Curragh North Maintenance team in Queensland. You will perform repair and maintenance on mobile mining equipment, welding and fabricating components to ensure optimal fleet performance and safety.

As part of a high‑performing team, you will interpret technical manuals and bulletins, conduct pre‑start inspections, and maintain safe work practices in a busy open‑cut mining environment. HR licence is highly regarded.

Qualifications

• Trade Certificate in Engineering Fabrication or equivalent trade qualification.
• Post-trade experience within mining, heavy earthmoving or hydraulic excavator environments.
• Strong welding, gouging, cutting and fabrication capabilities.
• Current Standard 11.
• Current Driver Licence, HR Licence highly regarded.

Responsibilities

• Perform repair and maintenance activities on mobile mining equipment.
• Complete welding, fabrication, gouging and cutting activities to support equipment reliability.
• Source and interpret technical information from maintenance manuals and bulletins.
• Conduct pre-start inspections and maintain safe work practices.
• Ensure workshop tooling remains fit for purpose and report unsafe equipment when identified.
