Job summary

MacKellar Group is seeking experienced HME Boilermakers to join our maintenance team on a major mining project near Nyngan, NSW. You'll contribute to structural repairs, fabrication and maintenance across heavy mining equipment, including excavators and haul trucks.

FIFO from Brisbane on a 7/7 roster with camp accommodation and meals provided. This permanent, full-time role offers long-term project security and the opportunity to work with a skilled maintenance team on a modern fleet.

Qualifications

• Trade qualification as a Boilermaker.
• Previous experience working on heavy mobile mining equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret fabrication drawings.
• Commitment to safety and quality workmanship.

Responsibilities

• Structural repairs and fabrication on heavy mining equipment
• Bucket, tray and wear package repairs
• Welding, gouging and other hot work
• Crack repairs and structural repairs to HME components
• Working at heights and in confined spaces where required
• Inspecting damage, identifying repair requirements and completing quality repairs
• Supporting planned maintenance, shutdowns and component rebuilds
• Working safely and efficiently in line with site and manufacturer standards

About the role

You'll be responsible for structural repairs, fabrication and maintenance across heavy mining equipment, including excavators and haul trucks.

Your day-to-day work will include:

• Structural repairs and fabrication on heavy mining equipment
• Bucket, tray and wear package repairs
• Welding, air arc gouging and other hot work
• Crack repairs and structural repairs to HME components
• Working at heights and in confined spaces where required
• Inspecting damage, identifying repair requirements and completing quality repairs
• Supporting planned maintenance, shutdowns and component rebuilds
• Working safely and efficiently in line with site and manufacturer standards

About you

We're looking for a trade-qualified Boilermaker with strong HME or heavy mining experience.

• Trade qualification as a Boilermaker
• Previous experience working on heavy mobile mining equipment
• Strong experience with bucket, tray and structural repairs
• Experience with welding, gouging and fabrication
• Ability to read and interpret fabrication drawings
• A strong commitment to safety and quality workmanship
• Current Australian driver's licence

Mining or heavy earthmoving experience is essential.
