Job summary

HiQ Group seeks an experienced Boilermaker to fabricate, install and repair metal structures and equipment for industrial operations. You will maintain, modify, and service boilers, tanks, chutes, and pipelines while adhering to safety, quality, and environmental policies.

The role requires hands-on boilermaker experience, strong field service skills, and the ability to work unsupervised with a focus on safety and reliability of plant equipment.

Qualifications

• Boilermaker trade qualification from an RTO or equivalent.
• Hands-on experience in heavy fabrication, plant attachment, and truck trailers.
• Proven field service background with ability to work unsupervised.
• Demonstrated safety focus and ability to follow WHS&E plans.

Responsibilities

• Carry out general boilermaker maintenance, fabrication, and modifications
• Complete required documentation accurately and effectively
• Apply risk management strategies when completing tasks
• Observe safety, quality, and environmental policies and implement WHS&E plan
• Ensure PPE is worn at all times
• Report and complete all jobs with accuracy and timeliness
• Competently operate plant and equipment
• Conduct routine inspections to identify wear or damage
• Undertake fabrication of new components and replacement parts
• Maintain welding equipment and service vehicle to company standards

Job description

The Boilermaker is responsible for the fabrication, assembly, installation, maintenance, and repair of metal structures, boilers, tanks, chutes, hoppers, pipes, and heavy-duty equipment used in industrial operations. The role ensures all work is carried out safely, efficiently, and to the required specifications and standards, supporting the operational performance and reliability of plant and equipment.

Main Responsibilities

• Carry out general boilermaker maintenance, fabrication, and modifications
• Complete required documentation accurately and effectively
• Apply risk management strategies when completing tasks in the work environment
• Observe company quality, safety, and environmental policies, ensuring implementation of the WHS&E plan
• Ensure adequate precaution and protection methods are used for materials and equipment during handling, storage, and production phases
• Verify works comply with specified requirements
• Ensure PPE is worn at all times
• Report and complete all jobs in Kynection
• Competently operate plant and equipment
• Conduct routine inspections of plant and equipment to identify wear, damage, or potential failures
• Undertake fabrication of new components and replacement parts to minimise downtime
• Maintain welding equipment, tools, and service vehicle to company standards

The Successful Candidate Will:

• Hold a Boilermaker trade qualification through a registered training organisation
• Bring proven experience in heavy fabrication, plant attachment, and truck trailers
• Have hands-on experience in general boilermaker maintenance, fabrication, and modifications
• Have a strong field service background
• Hold a White Card (or be willing to obtain one)
• Hold a current Australian MR minimum drivers' licence (or be willing to obtain one)
• Have good communication skills
• Be self-motivated and team orientated
• Have a proven ability to work unsupervised with a track record of working safely
• Be able to pass a comprehensive pre-employment medical
