Job summary

BFP Engineering in Narangba, QLD, is seeking experienced boilermakers to join our team. You will fabricate and assemble tank and truck chassis components using Mild Steel, Aluminium and Stainless Steel, with emphasis on welds to Australian Standards.

Qualifications

• Welding mild steel, stainless steel and aluminium with GMAW and GTAW across specified thickness.
• Able to read and interpret CAD drawings efficiently.
• Experience using Brake Press up to 40t.
• Experience using Guillotines, Band Saws, Croppers, Section Rollers and CNC Rollers.
• Experience in Acetylene and Plasma cutting.

Responsibilities

• Fabrication and assembly of Mild Steel, Aluminium and Stainless Steel components for tank and truck chassis builds.
• Prepare weld surfaces and perform welds to Australian Standards.
• Plasma cutting, thermal cutting, guillotining, rolling and using band saws to make components to drawings.
• Welding components with hydrostatic testing where required and finish edges to a presentable finish.

Job description

At BFP Engineering, we are proud to be one of Australia’s leading manufacturers of Road Making, Road Maintenance and Transport vehicles for Bitumen, Emulsion and Stone Spreading products. We are currently seeking experienced & motivated trade qualified Boilermakers to join our team located at Narangba. Multiple positions available due to product demand.

Qualifications & experience:

• Welding Mild Steel, Stainless Steel and Aluminium with GMAW from 1.6mm to 16mm. Welding Stainless Steel and Aluminium with GTAW from 1.5mm to 6mm.
• Able to read and interpret Cad drawings efficiently.
• Experience using a Brake Press, up to 40t.
• Experience using Guillotines, Band Saws, Croppers, Section Rollers and CNC Rollers.
• Experience in using Acetylene thermal cutting and Plasma cutting machines.
• Experience in working within a production line style workshop and capable of self time managed completion of jobs to a satisfactory standard within tolerance.

Tasks & responsibilities:

• Fabrication and assembly of a variety of Mild Steel, Aluminium and Stainless Steel components for tank and truck chassis builds.
• Correctly preparing weld surfaces and performing welds to Australian Standards.
• Plasma cutting, thermal cutting, guillotining, rolling and using band saws and other manual tools to make components to drawings.
• Welding of Mild Steel, Aluminium and Stainless Steel components, some requiring hydrostatic testing, and prepare edges and surfaces to be clean and presentable.
