Job summary

Teak Decks Australia on the Gold Coast is seeking a skilled Boat Builder and Repairer to join our team. This hands-on role covers timber, fibreglass, and composite vessels, with a focus on building and installing teak decks and marine decks.

Training is provided for marine techniques, but timber experience is essential. You will interpret detailed drawings, operate woodworking tools safely, and collaborate with other trades to meet project deadlines while upholding high quality standards in a

Qualifications

• Certificate III in Boat Building or 3 years full-time carpentry experience.
• 3 years full-time work experience as a professional Carpenter.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to read plans.
• Willingness to learn, adapt, and take pride in high-quality work.

Responsibilities

• Construct, fit out, and repair boats including timber, fibreglass and composite vessels.
• Build and install custom teak decks with measuring, templating, caulking, sanding and finishing.
• Interpret drawings and specs to ensure precise work.
• Operate woodworking tools and marine equipment safely.
• Repair hulls, superstructures, bulkheads and keels.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards and maritime regulations.
• Collaborate with trades and project managers to meet deadlines and quality standards.
• Maintain tools, materials and workspace in clean and safe condition.

Teak Decks Pty Ltd We’re a trusted supplier of high-end timber and synthetic components, proudly partnering with one of the country’s most prestigious boat manufacturers. As our business expands, we’re seeking skilled, motivated, and reliable Boat Builder and Repairer to join our talented team on the Gold Coast.

This is a hands-on role combining boat building with specialised marine deck building and synthetic flooring installation . While training is provided for marine-specific techniques, experience with timber work and tools is essential.

Task & Responsibilities

• Construct, fit out, and repair boats, including timber, fibreglass, and composite vessels.
• Build and install custom teak decks, including measuring, templating, caulking, sanding, and finishing.
• Interpret detailed drawings and specifications to ensure accurate and precise work.
• Operate woodworking tools and marine equipment safely and effectively.
• Repair structural components, including hulls, superstructures, bulkheads, and keels.
• Ensure all work complies with safety standards and maritime regulations.
• Collaborate closely with other trades and project managers to meet deadlines and quality standards.
• Maintain tools, materials, and workspaces in clean and safe condition.

Qualification & Experience

• Certificate III in Boat Buildiing or 3 years of full time work experience to replace qualification
• 3 years of full time work experience as a professional Carpenter
