Job summary

SchoolHouse in Far North Queensland (Cairns) seeks a Boarding House Mentor to support wellbeing, safety and development of students living in residential boarding. You will work in a day and boarding school environment, applying trauma-informed practice with empathy and clear professional boundaries.

Ideal candidates will show resilience, teamwork and the ability to lead a shift, establishing calm, structured routines for adolescent girls and building strong relationships with students, families

Qualifications

• Experience in residential care or youth work preferred.
• Blue Card/Working With Children Check or ability to obtain.
• First Aid & CPR (or willingness to complete prior to commencement)
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills
• Ability to lead a team and make sound decisions during a shift

Responsibilities

• Support wellbeing, safety and development of students in residential boarding.
• Apply trauma-informed practices with empathy and consistent boundaries.
• Lead a shift and maintain calm, structured routines for adolescent girls.
• Collaborate with staff, families and the wider school community.
