Orica has developed the world’s first through the earth wireless blasting technology, WebGen, and we currently have vacancies for Wireless Blasting Technicians. There are positions available operating on an 8 on 6 roster out of Perth. In this role, you will be the face of our company and play an important role in bringing this technology to life on our customer sites. The role is hands-on and you will be accountable for managing the safe, effective and reliable implementation of all elements of a WebGen Service. We don’t need you to know everything about WebGen right away; we will train you. We just need you to share the same enthusiasm and drive to make our customers successful as we do.

What you will be doing

This is a key site delivery role in our WebGen blasting services;

• Providing product stewardship support to our customer stakeholders on site;
• Working within the Orica technical services team to deliver high quality blast results and value to the customers operation;
• Partnering with, and developing true longstanding relationships with our trusted customers;
• Delivering appropriate safety initiatives which align with Orica’s and our Customer values.

What you will bring

As a key part of this specialist team, you will be able to show us that you are determined and passionate. You will have a positive and team-focused attitude with plenty of resilience for overcoming challenges.

• A current and up to date shotfiring license, or degree qualification in engineering is an advantage, but not mandatory;
• Experience using Orica’s EBS systems is an advantage but not mandatory;
• Prior experience with any wireless blasting technology is an advantage;
• A genuine enthusiasm to deliver an innovative technology to our customers;
• Strong communication skills and an ability to quickly pick-up and master new systems and technologies;
• A problem-solving mind set, new technology can bring unique challenges, a calm approach facing high tension scenarios will drive success.
• Process driven and procedurally disciplined.
