St George Hospital is seeking a Clinical Midwifery Educator to coordinate, deliver and evaluate education for the Birth Unit after hours. The role supports orientation, transitions for new midwives, and ongoing professional development.

Based in South Eastern Sydney Local Health District, the position offers permanent full-time and part-time options, with an hourly rate of $62.68–$64.71 plus super. Strong teaching, supervision and adult learning expertise are essential.

Qualifications

• Current registration as a Registered Midwife with the Nursing & Midwifery Board of Australia.
• Post-registration qualification in education or a minimum of 3 years clinical experience.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Understanding of adult learning principles in healthcare.
• Demonstrated teaching, facilitation, and assessment skills.
• Proficiency with hospital information systems.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate, deliver and evaluate clinical midwifery education at the ward/unit level.
• Provide clinical supervision at the point of care.
• Support orientation and transition for new midwifery staff and undergraduate students.
• Meet ongoing educational needs of existing staff.
