Job summary

Southern NSW Local Health District in Bega is seeking a Clinical Midwife Educator at South East Regional Hospital. You will develop nursing skills, support professional growth and promote best practice to enhance patient care across our community.

The role offers 38 hours per week with a salary in the range of $124,273.70 to $128,301.89 per annum and requires current AHPRA registration as a Midwife, post-registration qualifications, and 3+ years of relevant experience.

Qualifications

• Registered Midwife with current AHPRA registration.
• Post-registration clinical or education qualifications required or willingness to obtain Workplace Trainer/Assessor certificate.
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in the clinical area with competency in staff development.
• Experience as a preceptor/mentor with contemporary education methods.
• Ability to develop and evaluate education activities using adult learning principles.
• Strong written and verbal communication and computer skills.
• Current unrestricted driver's licence and willingness to travel.

Responsibilities

• Provides clinical training at ward/unit level by formulating and delivering in-service educational programs.
• Assesses and demonstrates clinical procedures.
• Fosters a preceptor/mentor role to support less experienced staff to enhance clinical skills.
• Develops, delivers and evaluates education and learning activities to meet individual needs using adult learning principles.
