Job summary

Newcastle Private, part of Healthscope, is looking for a Registered Midwife to join our 6-bed Birth suite in the Newcastle region. We welcome full-time, part-time or casual arrangements, with rotations to Antenatal ward, Post-natal ward and our recently renovated Special Care Nursery.

Working with a dedicated team of midwives, obstetricians, paediatricians and educators, you’ll provide labour and birthing care, participate in ongoing professional development, and benefit from staff relocation

Qualifications

• Current registration with AHPRA as a Registered Midwife.
• Current NSW Working with Children Check.
• Demonstrated experience in a maternity role.

Responsibilities

• Provide labour and birthing care in a 6-bed Birth Suite.
• Rotate across Antenatal ward, Post-natal ward and Special Care Nursery.
• Collaborate with a team of midwives, obstetricians and paediatricians to deliver exceptional care.

Essential Criteria

• Current registration with AHPRA as a Registered Midwife
• Current NSW Working with Children Check
• Demonstrated experience working in a similar role

Applicants will be required to provide a current National Police check, WWCC (where applicable) and Evidence of right to work in Australia prior to appointment. Staff in patient contact roles will be required to provide proof of immunity to specified infectious diseases as a Category A Healthcare worker.
If you are successful in the role, you will receive a salary based on your years of relevant registered nursing experience against the current Healthscope and NSWNMA/ANMF – NSW Nurses and Midwives’ – Enterprise Agreement 2024, a salary ranging from $39.09 - $54.89 per hour.
