Job summary

Renaissance Info Systems in Sydney seeks an experienced SQL Developer focused on Google BigQuery analytics and data transformations. You design and optimize complex queries and data views, leveraging Python for data wrangling and automation.

You will collaborate with analysts and onshore teams to deliver scalable BigQuery solutions while ensuring governance and performance tuning. This is a permanent, full-time role based in Sydney.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of hands-on SQL development experience.
• Experience with PL/SQL or other RDBMS platforms.
• Strong expertise in Google BigQuery or similar cloud-based data warehouses.
• Ability to work independently, engage with onshore stakeholders, and deliver SQL solutions.
• Basic experience with Python, particularly Pandas for data manipulation.
• Solid understanding of data modeling, partitioning, and performance tuning in BigQuery.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and optimize complex SQL queries and views in BigQuery for analytics.
• Implement advanced transformations and aggregations using window functions, CTEs, and partitioning.
• Collaborate with analysts and stakeholders to translate requirements into efficient BigQuery solutions.
• Use Python (Pandas) for data wrangling and automation scripts.
• Troubleshoot performance issues and optimize query execution plans.
• Ensure compliance with data governance and security standards.
